Trip to Rishikesh – A trip for Adventures and Water sports
About The place:
Rishikesh is situated beside the holy river Ganges in the Himalayan foothills in Uttarakhand-India. This small city is a big capital (centres for spiritual studies) for learning yoga and meditation. Here one can find many Temples and Ashrams. But on the other side, this small city is also famous for adventure and water sports which are River Rafting, Cliff Jumping, Bungee jumping and Jungle Camping. I have been here many times and enjoyed every time with new experiences. So I am going to share the outcomes from my journey, this will help you to create a Rishikesh water sports trip plan for yourself.
How much will be the estimated cost per Person:
This trip is one of the cheapest trips if you exclude Bungee Jumping. Because it actually costs an equal amount for the complete trip including transport from Delhi to Rishikesh and back to Delhi and river rafting.
If you hire a self-drive car for 4 people and do camping and rafting (16 km at least), It will cost you around 3500-4000/person. Rafting and Camping Packages may vary depending on the season. But it will not cost you more than INR 4000/person.
But if you also include Bungee Jumping and other Adventure sports in your itinerary it will cost more than INR 8000/head. The list of adventure sports is as follows.
Entry Ticket | 100 / person |
Bungy Jumping | 3500 / person |
Giant Swing | 3500 / person |
Flying Fox (If doing alone) | 3000 / person |
Flying Fox (3 persons in tandem) | 1700 / person |
Combo 1: Bungy + Swing | 6500 / person |
Combo 2: Bungy + Fox | 4700 / person |
Combo 3: Swing + Fox | 4700 / person |
Trilogy Combo: Bungy + Fox + Swing | 8000 / person |

What else is there to check out?
Rajaji Nation Park: Famous for Tiger and elephant safari.

What should I do?
Do your bookings in advance. Please book your camping and rafting package in advance to avoid any unrest as we suffered a lot when we were there for the first time without booking in advance.
While enjoying Rafting do not risk your and other's life unnecessarily. Follow the instructions carefully this may help you save your life and others too.
If you are in Rishikesh, River Rafting is a must that too at least 16 KM.
Visit Rajaji National Park, if you are a jungle lover. If you are lucky you may see Tiger too. But you will find lots of free elephants roaming in the jungle.
Neelkanth Temple is a bit off-road but surely tests your driving skills.
Spend time near the river bank with friends and enjoy the music and food.
Ask the Camp manager for a Bonfire it is a great experience.
What should I not do?
Do not carry many things with you except a phone and some money. Avoid carrying a wallet.
In the camps you will not find any locker so plan in advance to keep your belongings safe.
Rishikesh is blessed by nature and has lots of greenery so please try to keep it clean. Do not throw your waste here and there.
What could be the proposed Itinerary?
Do rafting on day one which is too early in the morning or before 1200 hours.
Plan other things like Bungee Jumping and Visit Rajaji National Park or Neelkanth on the next day.
