Are we living in the past all the time? If you look through the eyes of science…. Yes!
We are living in the past all the time. It sounds bizarre but it is true. In fact, if we believe in modern science, then it is absolutely true. We live every moment of our life in the past. This is probably not easily understood for the common man or who did not like science at all. But for space scientists, this is every day’s reality. To understand this, knowledge of simple science is needed. All of us must have read “Light", a science lesson in our school days. It doesn't matter if you don't remember it yourself but it’s okay if you have an idea, today we will try to understand it here in easy language.
According to the theory of science, any object or event is visible to us due to light. That is, when a ray of light falls on the retina of our eyes after hitting an object, then we see that object. And if the light goes through that object, then the object is not visible to us or it is invisible. So it is understood that light has a direct relation with our visibility.
Let’s now try to understand whether we really live in our past?
As we have seen how much the importance of light is for us to see anything. Now we know that everything in the world has its own speed, similarly light has its own speed. According to science and mathematical calculation, the speed of light is about 300,000 km/s. This means that the beam of light collides with any object and hits our retina at a speed of about 300,000 km/s. This speed is so high that a person of ordinary vision cannot see it with his eyes. But to understand our statement, we will try to change its speed.
Now we assume that the speed of light is 30 km/h. I know, this is very less, but to understand the principle, we agree. Now we are standing at a railway station and trying to see a train. The speed of this train is also 30 km / h. So in this case we will see the train at its actual place. Because of the speed of light and the speed of the train are equal.
Now another train passes through there. This time the speed of the train is 60 km/h. This is double the speed of light. In this situation, when the ray of light collides with that train and will reach us and by the time we see the train, till then the train will have gone twice ahead of that place. This means that we are not looking at the actual train but its reflection that was made in the past!
That means, we are looking at the event or object past and not the present. And this happens to us all the time. But in the case of the high speed of light, this time difference between past and present becomes very much less almost negligible and we feel that event happened in the present. Whereas, we only see a reflection of the event from the past.
In this way, we can say that we are living in the past all the time.
I hope that this principle will help you see the world in a new way. And if you like this post, please share it to others and please let us know what you think about this theory by commenting on the post.
